A comprehensive overview of the guiding principles of the Bangladesh DX Club (BDXC)
The foundation of our identity and mission.
The organization is officially named the Bangladesh DX Club (BDXC). It serves as a non-profit, voluntary body for amateur radio enthusiasts in Bangladesh. Our core objectives are to promote DXing excellence, enhance technical skills, foster a collaborative community, and provide vital communication support during emergencies.
Who can join and how our community is structured.
Membership is open to licensed amateur radio operators with a valid BTRC license and a documented record of at least 1,000 DX QSOs. Individuals with proven technical proficiency in radio equipment are also eligible. The membership categories are: Founding Members, Executive Members, Regular Members, and Honorary Members.
Our unique leadership structure.
The club is managed by an Executive Committee (EC) composed of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, and Treasurer. In a unique approach to governance, there are no formal elections. All leadership positions are filled by a fair rotational system based on the alphabetical order of members' callsigns, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to lead.
Responsibilities of our leadership.
The Executive Committee is the highest executive body, responsible for managing all operational, administrative, and strategic matters. The President serves as the chief executive officer and official spokesperson, with powers to call meetings, represent the club, and make administrative decisions that align with the constitution.
Ensuring fair process and communication.
These articles outline the procedures for challenging decisions made by the EC or President, the role of an honorary Advisor to provide strategic guidance, and the rules for conducting General, Executive, and Emergency meetings, including quorums and notices.
What we do and the principles we uphold.
The club's activities are designed to foster growth, including amateur radio operations, DXpeditions, emergency communications, and training. All members must adhere to a strict Code of Conduct, which emphasizes respect, ethical practices, compliance with BTRC regulations, and protecting the club's reputation.
Our commitment to financial transparency.
As a non-profit organization, all funds, donations, and sponsorships are used exclusively for club operations, technical development, and emergency support. The constitution outlines strict rules for financial transactions, record-keeping, and auditing to ensure transparency and accountability.
Protecting our resources and members.
All club assets, including equipment, logos, and intellectual property, are to be used solely for official purposes. The club is also committed to protecting member information, with strict policies on data collection, storage, and confidentiality.
The legal framework of the club.
These final articles detail the formal process for amending the constitution, establish the constitution as the supreme governing document, and outline the conditions and procedures for the dissolution of the club, ensuring that any remaining assets are donated to another non-profit organization.
